How to choose a UGC agency for consumer tech and wellness
By Infinite Pulse Media · UpdatedChoose a UGC agency by how it connects creator content to your objective. Ask to see a concrete pilot plan and the decisions its reporting would support, alongside examples of its work.
Ask what outcome the agency is selling
Content production, organic distribution and paid acquisition are different scopes. Check which responsibilities are included: sourcing, briefs, editing, approvals, publishing, ad management and measurement.
An agency that delivers videos may be a good fit when you already manage distribution and testing. A team that runs the campaign needs to explain how it will judge the content against your growth goal.
Look for audience and product fit
For a consumer app, a creator needs to make the use case understandable and demonstrate the product naturally. For wellness, the brief should distinguish a creator's experience from a product claim and define the brand's approval process.
Ask why each proposed creator fits the audience, category and format. A follower count alone does not explain why that person should make your paid creative.
Check how evidence is presented
When a result is shared, ask what was measured, over what period, under which objective and with what attribution. A best observed cost, a campaign average and a cumulative agency total describe different things.
Client names establish a work history. Performance figures need their own context. If an agency cannot publicly attribute a result to a client, it should keep that distinction clear rather than implying an association.
Use these questions on the first call
- Which event would you use as the primary success measure for our product?
- How will you confirm that event is being recorded correctly?
- Which distinct creative angles would the first round compare?
- Who owns briefs, revisions, ad delivery and the landing-page feedback?
- What usage, duration and paid-ad permissions are included?
- What will the report tell us to change in the next round?
- What evidence would lead you to pause instead of spending more?
Get the pilot scope in writing
Agree creators, deliverables, distribution, total budget, usage and the success measure before launch. Make clear which costs cover management, production and media, and who approves a change in scope.
Ask what happens if the first round is inconclusive. A useful answer explains the missing evidence and the smallest next test. A promise of certainty without reviewing the product, tracking or funnel is not a substitute for a plan.
How IPM frames the engagement
Infinite Pulse Media finds, tests and scales creator content for consumer tech and wellness brands on TikTok and Meta. Organic work is judged by attention and engagement; paid UGC is judged against an agreed action and cost per result. A defined pilot establishes the scope before launch.
